It was definitely a “kewl” game
By Luther Martin

In my efforts to convert players of other games to Rolemaster, I sometimes try crossover games, where we convert characters from other systems to Rolemaster and try an adventure with the modified characters. The last time I tried this, one of the characters that we converted was a fighter named Og, who happened have a proficiency in “unconscious halfling.” Really.

After a few minutes of play, the newly-converted characters started a brawl in a nearby tavern. A few rounds of brawling provided a handy unconscious halfling named Furfoot, whom Og proceeded to pick up and wield as a weapon. Fortunately, The Armory has a table for the feared Nodwick weapon, which I decided was close enough for resolving any attacks using the unfortunate Furfoot. A few rounds and an impressive open-ended roll later, Og managed to land a nasty critical using Furfoot, splattering the head of his target over a wide area in a particularly gruesome way.

I didn’t gain any converts to Rolemaster that game, but everyone present agreed that it was definitely a “kewl” game, and that its designers had truly though of every possibility.
